DELP FAMILY SUPPORTS COLLEGIATE TENNIS AT HILLSDALE
Cleves and Kathy Delp have both enjoyed learning and playing the game of tennis for a long time, a gift of sport that they passed on to their own children. From their early days of learning the game at Twos to each competitive level along the way, tennis has been a staple of the Delp family. Cleves and Kathy’s three oldest children, Morgan, Sydney, and Dugan, have all fell in love with the game, making Twos proud as each of them served as ambassadors for the newly-formed men’s and women’s tennis programs in the collegiate ranks at Hillsdale College. Their two youngest children, Maverick and Winston, have also learned to love the game and excelled. Maverick has competed at Central Catholic High School with Winston soon to follow.
Much like the renovation of Twos Athletic Club last year, Cleves and Kathy Delp saw an opportunity to help improve the facilities for another community who was excited about the game of tennis and they pounced at the chance to help. With the men’s and women’s tennis programs at Hillsdale being reinstated in the last few years, building new and state-of-the-art outdoor courts were the last step in Hillsdale’s plans to build successful collegiate programs at the school.
With the dedication of the newly minted tennis courts at Hillsdale College, the Delp children’s biggest fan and grandmother, Mary Jane Delp, now joins them in the Hillsdale Tennis history books. The Mary Jane Delp Tennis Courts were dedicated to Cleves’ mother in April of 2016; a special moment that the Delp family was able to share. Competitiveness, tenacity, and a will to win are all attributes Hillsdale Charger tennis and Mary Jane Delp share.
